Competitor Notes:

Updated 6/5/24

The Middleburg Orange County Pony Club, along with the supporting River Bend Pony Club, would sincerely like to thank you for your entry! We are looking forward to hosting a terrific event in The Plains this weekend.

We would also like to give a BIG thank you to our generous sponsors: TriCounty, Southern States, OGS, Mrs. Pastures, Triple Crown, Dover Saddlery, WinGreen, Dreamers and Schemers, Old Bust Head Brewery, Equiderma, and Erin Gilmore Photography. In addition to ribbons, our sponsors are providing prizes for all divisions plus the low point scores for Juniors at each level will receive a prize from the sponsors.

A few housekeeping items for Middleburg Horse Trials:

             ·   Entries are not complete unless payment has been made, even if the paperwork was received or postmarked prior to the closing date.  If payment was not received or postmarked as of the closing date, the entry is late and a late fee has been assessed.  Please email the secretary with your intent to make payment in order to have your ride time posted.

             ·   Ride times are  posted Wednesday (6/5) afternoon on our official website.

             ·   Competitors with multiple rides in a day must do their Dressage at the stated time unless they get approval from the TD, Ground Jury or Dressage steward. In any case it would be best to do your SJ and XC at the stated times but in some cases that is not possible. But you must finish your Stadium and XC before the courses are changed. Please let the relevant stewards know your plans

             ·   All inquiries must be made via email to the secretary at melrozga@gmail.com.

             ·   All trailers – please enter through GATE 2 on both Saturday and Sunday – go through the polo arena parking and follow the signs to trailer parking.

             ·   All volunteers and spectators – please enter at GATE 7 and follow signs around to the left, past the ‘Red Barn’ to park.

             ·   Water availability is VERY limited – please plan accordingly and bring your own water. There is access to water back up by the polo arena and at the finish of XC.

             ·   Course Maps will be available by the start box on Friday afternoon – The start boxes are on far side of main arena and available online

             ·   If we do not get any rain this week, we may aerate the XC course – we do have very good grass ground cover, but this will also help.

             ·   Dressage will be on grass on the rugby pitch on the backside of the polo fields

             ·   NO CARS OR TRUCKS will be allowed near the competition areas during competition – bikes/ golf carts/ gators will be allowed. We will have shuttles to get people from the trailer parking area to the Stadium and XC areas.

             ·   Volunteers are our most valuable asset as we can’t hold events without them. We will be providing our volunteers with T-shirts (to wear the day of), hats, lunch, and lunch boxes! Items available at the volunteer check-in location at the Meadow House.

We are doing quite well with volunteers but still have several open jobs we need filled including XC Jump judges, a dressage scribe and shuttle drivers. Please share this link with your friends, neighbors, students, etc. that would be interested in volunteering. https://www.eventingvolunteers.com/events/3280/signup

             ·   The link to the scoring is https://coursewalkapp.com/livescores/2024_06_08_MOPCHT/index.html

             ·   You will be able to see the score for each of your dressage movements; the jumps where your problems occurred and can sort results for any phase. You may want to bookmark this on your mobile devices ahead of the event.

             ·   For your convenience, we will have food trucks on site for breakfast and lunch both Saturday and Sunday.

             ·   VTO Saddlery will have a tent set up with plenty of merchandise both days

             ·   All of the Stadium jumps and poles that are marked as MOCPC are offered for sale (not those owned by Great Meadow). If you are interested in purchasing any jumps, please let the Secretary know which jumps/poles you want and leave a check for those jumps. They can be picked up after the competition concludes on Sunday. Alternate pick-up arrangements might be accommodated by working with the secretary.

             ·   Great Meadow Foundation (not MOCPC or the Horse Trial) is having a schooling day on Tuesday June 11th. You will need to check their website or contact them for more details. If we get more information, we will provide an update.
